A Call for Prayer...

I intend to paint as long as God allows me to do so. Work becomes increasingly harder however. My eye-sight continues to deteriorate quickly. I have good days and bad days with seeing. So I am putting this message out there and asking you to please keep me in your prayers if you wouldn't mind. I firmly and deeply believe in the power, the sanctity of Prayer and the healing that comes from it. I believe that God truly does hear us when we pray and answers our prayers. So if you are inclined to do so...I would very much appreciate your prayers for my healing, and also to help me to work as long as possible. Thank you, and from our family to yours... Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!!!

May God Bless you all!

With Love and Friendship,
Billie

Landscape in Blue, A Spiritual Message;

I call this work Night Mist.

Things sometimes happen in life. Synchronicities, "Chance Events", Fortuitous Happenstances, Destined Occurrences, Delightful Coincidences.....call them what you will, but they are all really God guiding life where it needs to go. I have often called them Happy Accidents lol, though that term is misleading as I don't really believe that anything is an accident. God has a planned purpose for everything. This painting is one such Happy Accident, as in I didn't intend it to happen. However I have been told that it is one of my best works that I have ever done. People seem to really enjoy my landscapes. I may not have intended it but obviously Spirit had other ideas lol! That happens a lot in life....and certainly a great deal to me. I always try to do my best to listen to what God has to say, and accept His guidance on where I should go and what I should do. So when the "accident" occurred, I just decided to run with it. I think it is important for people to learn to do this. Trust that there is a plan and Follow with Faith in Life's Grand Adventure.

More Equine Work;

I call this one Pure Spirits;

This Painting was a gift for a friend who considers there to be a great symbolism about the white horse. White has long represented Purity, Spirit, Life, Death, and Renewal. The symbolism of the ocean waves again points to cleanliness and purity. Horses have a vast deep symbolism depending on what culture you are from and what traditions you follow. To me Horses represent Love, Buoyancy, Vitality, and Loyalty. They also speak to having a Spirit of Adventure.

More Whimsy;

I was asked to do a portrait of someone's dogs as I am often asked to do.

I call this piece Loving Companions.

Elegant Portrait of Delia

Most of my work could actually be considered abstract impressionism. However I do like to keep the different subject matters separated, because I think they display better that way as individual pieces when they are so.

I titled this piece Touch of Elegance, it is a portrait of a dear family friend Delia whom I see as very refined and cultured, and someone who just has that old world class and charm about her that is sadly lacking in many today. I did this painting so that she could see herself as I see her...simply beautiful and with timeless class.

Abstract Impressionism

I call this one Native Scout. I was commissioned by an old family friend to do a native american themed painting. The style is impressionistic but also has a touch of the abstract about it.

Southern Hospitality

This painting is of an old southern (Antebellum Plantation, non-colonial) style home that used to be in the family;

Scenes of the Winter Season; and The Holy Festival of Christmas

Christmas is one of the Holiest times of the year for The Followers of Yashua Christ; so as you can imagine I always get very inspired at Yule-tide! These paintings are some of my winter workings this past year. Something that really stayed with me this year while I was working was the image of stars in the night sky; which brought to mind The Christmas Star.

Celtic Visions;

I did these two pieces as a gift for my adopted Grand-Daughter Jenna. She is the best friend and adopted Sister of the Grandson who set this blog up for me and I consider her a treasured member of my extended family! My Grandson and I got the idea for these from a Celtic Tapestry we had seen. I had been wanting to do some paintings for Jenna for a while now and this seemed like a great chance at doing something for her that I felt she would really like and connect with. I know she wouldn't mind me sharing her gifts with you.

Autumn Dusk;

and...  Winter Moonrise;

Faithful Generations, an impression of a spiritual truth;

I was Inspired to do this painting of some of the men and boys of one branch of my family.
